Gentlemen,
I would encourage all to participate in the Wyoming Schuetzen Union Winter League that is currently being managed by the Davenport boys. They graciously took over running the League when our website went kaput and have kept it going.

Possibly we should post scores here as well to spread the word?

Gentlemen,

Sorry...forgot their web address.

www.dsaiowa.com will get you there and you can register. Bob Nicewanner assured me that they will take late entries.

50 shots per week on the German Ring 50-foot target...offhand, of course. Thought I better mention the offhand part just in case The Kid is lurking...

50 feet? Pshaw. Anyhow my barn is too cold to shoot in. Your tears cause your cheek to stick to the cheekpiece. Even if it's a Pope cheekpiece..................

If I'm lying, I'm dying, but last week I threw up a .280 Ackley offhand and hit my 22"x28" gong at a measured mile. One mile offhand. I know I hit it cause I have a camera on the target. Then I put the same rifle on the bench, solid rests, and missed it the next 19 shots.

I will say that I had 11 minutes of wind on the Nightforce scope. That's a bunch of wind at a mile. So, you 50 foot shooters, put that in your old pipe and smoke it.

Kid, I believe you. Long time back between the A Shau and Khe Sahn I had occasion to take a shot at about 1,000 meters without even using a sight. Sort of a quick draw thing I guess. One pull of the trigger and I wiped out a 12.7mm position and crew.

Miniguns greatly compensate for a lot of pedestrian issues. Tracers help.

Dan'l, if we're ever face to face again in this life I'll give you the straight and skinny on Operation Lucky Strike in detail.

Briefly it was two 20 year old GI's from Texas, tired, wore out, filthy and dirty GI's- and they were on the prod. Two fully charged M16's. A Government Owned Contractor Operated cigarette machine that had just stolen those two boys last dime.

Garbe would scoff at the 3 foot range, hipshot and not offhand, but you can't believe how many springs, wires, levers and plexiglass can come out of one of those machines.

If Miss Nyugen Van SweetiePie had been the only witness instead of a brigade sergeant major things would have turned out different.

Schuetzen comes in lots of forms I reckon.

Well, if you think the Sgt. Major was a hardass, you should have seen the Captain after the Major gnawed on his backside 'cause he had shot two troopers and a chopper after trying to clear a jam in a minigun. Offhand hipshot. Really. Ouch.

Everyone survived, the chopper too.

Back on topic, I contacted Bob per SPG's suggestion and he responded. We shall see where it leads.

Dan, great job on the 12.7 crew. You too Tom on killing the fag machine...
Thanks to both of you for serving. By way Tom, that machine was close so you could be Zimmer material...??
